Hmmm......Tomorrow tomorrow is the 29th August 2008...'THE BIG DAY'...Ahhhhhhhhhh......So excited but also very 怕怕. Today must eat good food if not confinement cannot eat liao.
Was doing final packing last night and thinking back about the past few months...really feel that I'm blessed. There are so many people around me giving me lots of support and care.
First I would like to thank my dear hubby for standby me through the whole process. He has grow more mature along the way and shower me with lots of tender, loving care. Especially when he know that I have pregnancy diabetic, he really watch my diet and remind me not to take too sweet stuff. And some nights when I have leg cramps he'll help to massages my legs....A SUPER BIG THANK YOU TO YOU ADRIAN....with you and baby Kellen, my life is sweet and complete.
I like to thank my parent and parent-in-law. They been looking after me ever since they know that I'm pregnant and have been giving me undivided attention through the whole process and helping me to get ready to move into the phase of motherhood.
I would also like to thank Evelyn (my sister-in-law), Lynette, Tricia and work colleagues. By sharing their wonderful experiences with me. Especially my sister-in-law sharing lots of her baby stuff with me.
Finally I like to thank little Anson ( Evelyn's precious little boy), for growing healthy and big each day and when he out grow the baby clothing Eve had brought for him, he sharing it with his little cousin, Kellen, Hahahaha..... Actually Big THANKS to both Eve and Anson....for helping me to save a lot of money...
With sincere thanks and appreciation to those around me, I think I'm ready to face the new challenge ahead of me tomorrow.

C-Section
Always though I'll be going for normal delivery but this round I chicken out. When I was in my 34 weeks routine check, there are traces of glucose in my urine and when I did the scan, our baby Kellen has a sudden increase in the estimated weight from 32 weeks about 2.2kg to 3kg. The sudden rise of 800gm within two weeks shocked my doctor.
During that check he sense something was not right for that sudden rise and immediately arranged a fasting OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test) to be done on me the following next day.
The test was no fun at all as I had to fast overnight and to reach the lab very early to take the first round of urine and blood samples, straight after that I was made to drink a bottle of very sweet fizzy not cold drink.....it was extremely *Yuckie*. Then I need to wait for 2 hours later with no food and drink in order to take the final round of urine and blood samples. Blood taking was unpleasant.
Next day the result was out and ....I was diagnosed with pregnancy diabetic...Super sad new for me and my dear hubby...but my doctor given me a lot of reassurance and quickly arranged me to go for dietary counselling at the Mount Alvernia Hospital.
The counselling session was good as the counsellor given me a lot of dietary advice and it seem like even you may have high blood sugar does not mean you have a lot of restriction. As long as you maintain good blood sugar level through out the day, you still can have food you like....e.g: cakes and fruits...etc.
I'm thankful to my doctor as he really take good care of me during my whole pregnancy and I do enjoy the whole process of being a mother-to-be.
After much discussion with my doc, weighting out all the pro and con about my condition, for the safety of our baby, I have to delivery baby Kellen one to weeks early then my original EDD. He do encourage me to go for induction but....I'm too afraid what if the induction fail and everything turn into emergency c-section.
The big "WHAT IF..." is the cause of the final decision both me and my hubby made.
C-SECTION.
After making this decision...everything seem much easy. We have decided to go for the spinal c-section so that we will not miss out the first glimpse of the birth of our little one .
I just need to monitor my blood sugar level and wait for the big day to come and we'll be seeing our precious little one on 29 August 2008.
