30/11/2008 - Today grandpa & grandma suggested to go for dinner at Tian Jing Lo restaurant for dinner. Joining us are cousin Anson and aunt Evelyn. We had Kellen dressed up with the baby romper brought by Mummy's colleague. It is in bright orange in color. After the dinner, we decided to have some phototaking with the christmas decorations at Chinatownpoint.
3 month old!!!! 29th Nov 2008
29/11/2008 - Today is baby Kellen is 3 month old!!!! Coincidentally, we are have a big family gathering dinner at Hung Kang Teochew restaurant. It is a gathering between families from both Kellen's grandpa and grandma. It is such a happy occasion with good food and 3 babies joining the gathetring for the 1st time. All 3 babies are borned in the year 2008. Most of the time, Kellen spent the time sleeping away after drinking his milk but he woke up at the end of the dinner and started to ' entertain' the families' members. Baby Kellen was then passed around the tables and Mummy & Daddy took the chance to have a good rest and have the dinner...........
Shopping trip to Suntec - New clothes by aunt Faye
23/11/2008 - Today we decided to head down to Suntec city to do some window shopping with baby Kellen.......We decided to dress Kellen up with the shirt & short brought by aunt Faye. At first we thought it maybe too big for Kellen till we put it on him.......THEN did we realised that how BIG Kellen had grown!!!! The shirt fits nicely and it is suppose to cater for baby from 6-12 month.........Anyway he looked soooooooo smart in them........

Kellen First Swimming Lesson On 22nd Nov
22/11/2008 - Today mummy and daddy decided to bring baby Kellen to harbourfront for his first 'swimming' session. Kellen is already 2 months plus coming to 3. After mummy knocked off from work, we immediately headed straight to habourfront. Kellen was stripped to nothing and was immediately out into the water tub after wearing the neck float. He was expressionless. At fisrt he was just floating in the water. Soon the staff there start to moved his legs...It was then Kellen started to kick his both legs...... soon he was going round the tub...... staring at spectators outside making them envy of this baby devil.......Although the whole 'swimming' session he was expressionless, we can tell that he really enjoy it. After which, kellen went for the body massage. He was not making any noise or whatever but just enjoying it. After the whole thing, he was fast asleep in his stroller.

Kellen 2 Months Old

Kellen is 2 months old today. He had a bad day yesterday as he was in NUH for some blood test for his jaundices problem. The nurse took the blood from his right hand and we were not allowed to stay with him while they draw the blood. Once the nurse had finished, she called for us and we went into the procedure room, he was crying very loudly and once he saw us he immediately stop crying.
I quickly carried him and gave him a big hug and comfort him.
The doctor called me this morning and told me that his jaundices level has drop to the normal. I'm relief to heard that.

Arrival of Kellen Tay on 29th August 2008
Daddy and mommy arrived at Mount Alvernia Hospital early morning around 7 plus for admission. Mommy was pushed into the operation theatre around 8 plus going to 9 am. The anesthetist then given mommy spinal injection to numb mommy 's lower portion of the body to get it ready for the c-section. When the surgery about to start daddy came into the surgery room to accompany mommy and to witness Kellen arrival.
By 9.45 am, mommy heard Kellen first cried.

Filled with joy, mommy carried Kellen in her arm for the first time.

Kellen was send to the neonate ICU after he was out as the doctor said he had some fluid in the lung needed monitoring. Mommy only got to carry him in the evening when he was fine.

Mommy was so happy to carry Kellen in her arm.
Mommy so happy until she forgot about her image.

C-Section
Always though I'll be going for normal delivery but this round I chicken out. When I was in my 34 weeks routine check, there are traces of glucose in my urine and when I did the scan, our baby Kellen has a sudden increase in the estimated weight from 32 weeks about 2.2kg to 3kg. The sudden rise of 800gm within two weeks shocked my doctor.
During that check he sense something was not right for that sudden rise and immediately arranged a fasting OGTT (oral glucose tolerance test) to be done on me the following next day.
The test was no fun at all as I had to fast overnight and to reach the lab very early to take the first round of urine and blood samples, straight after that I was made to drink a bottle of very sweet fizzy not cold drink.....it was extremely *Yuckie*. Then I need to wait for 2 hours later with no food and drink in order to take the final round of urine and blood samples. Blood taking was unpleasant.
Next day the result was out and ....I was diagnosed with pregnancy diabetic...Super sad new for me and my dear hubby...but my doctor given me a lot of reassurance and quickly arranged me to go for dietary counselling at the Mount Alvernia Hospital.
The counselling session was good as the counsellor given me a lot of dietary advice and it seem like even you may have high blood sugar does not mean you have a lot of restriction. As long as you maintain good blood sugar level through out the day, you still can have food you like....e.g: cakes and fruits...etc.
I'm thankful to my doctor as he really take good care of me during my whole pregnancy and I do enjoy the whole process of being a mother-to-be.
After much discussion with my doc, weighting out all the pro and con about my condition, for the safety of our baby, I have to delivery baby Kellen one to weeks early then my original EDD. He do encourage me to go for induction but....I'm too afraid what if the induction fail and everything turn into emergency c-section.
The big "WHAT IF..." is the cause of the final decision both me and my hubby made.
C-SECTION.
After making this decision...everything seem much easy. We have decided to go for the spinal c-section so that we will not miss out the first glimpse of the birth of our little one .
I just need to monitor my blood sugar level and wait for the big day to come and we'll be seeing our precious little one on 29 August 2008.
